I hate Buddhism (tm). No, this is not somekind of koan. I really mean it.
When I discovered zazen in 1996 by reading Master Dogen's Fukan-zazengi, I fell in love. I've been practicing zazen since. But I hated Buddhism (tm) back then because Buddhism (tm) just seemed to be hypocrite, superstitious and really crazy religion: "you have to be normal and to respect all people but at the same you can't be normal. Instead of it, you have to worship hypocrite monks and to play holy games." I still hate Buddhism (tm), it really disgust me as a Buddhist. Maybe that's why I'm studying it at the university.
As a Buddhist I say: fuck Buddhism (tm). I've been practicing zazen over 15 years and I don't see any reasons why I would stop. I've been studying Master Dogen's Shobogenzo and other teachings over 15 years and I love studying those. But Buddhism (tm)... fuck off.

Ah, discussing with quotes. So original. Here's a good one too:
A Christian asked me once, “My priest has said that no religion has spread so many lies as Buddhism. Is that really true?” I answered, “Now you’ve hit the nail right on the head, my friend!” The Lotus Sutra as well as The Garland Sutra and the Shōbōgenzō are nothing but lies – when they’re not put into practice. Without zazen, Buddhism is a total lie.

I've been a formal Zen student, working directly with lineage holders, since about 1988. I also am a journalist who writes about Buddhism. Buddhism is not a "lie" without zazen -- other skillful means of Right Concentration will do -- but zazen without Buddhism is little more than mental masturbation.

Since you say you hate Buddhism, obviously it IS your thing. If it truly had no hold on you, it wouldn't bother you one way or another.
Aversion is just another form of attachment. If Buddhism doesn't interest you, that's fine, but where is the hate coming from? That tells me your "practice" is mostly bullshit, and you are in no position to call anyone else a hypocrite.

thanks for dropping in again. It seems you have misunderstood my message, but that's ok. It happens all the time among Buddhists. That's why we Buddhists are fighting all the time. Path of Wisdom in my ass. But Buddhism (tm) and Buddhism are two different things. I don't hate Buddhism.
And yes, you're correct: my practice is bullshit. That's why it's so nice because it doesn't contain all the hypocrit Buddhist (tm) bullshit. And everyone is in position to call bullshit as bullshit. Or is The Truth only available for the Holy Zen Teachers and Holy Monks?
